I think this is like 'apples and oranges'; two different technologies. The Kuro is not in competition with OLED, in the first place. The temptation to just go out and buy something new, is part of the magic spell cast by the 'marketing people'. They have nether forgiven Pioneer for bursting their bubble by revealing that "some things are built to last a life time". The power consumption would only be an issue if everybody in the world had a Kuro, but the amount of Kuro owners is extremely small; barely worth mentioning, in comparison to big consumers of electricity like Bitcoin mining . The Kuro is what it was originally designed for, to be the first reference grade PQ TV, in both design, aesthetics, performance and reliability. It cannot be judged on resolution alone...
